If we have the correct birth certificate for Catherine Ross, which I believe we have, then this is her mother. We don't know much about her yet, but we do have her marriage record - one of the earliest records we have so far found. The reference to the "Gallick Congregation" and "Gallic Chapel", in her two children's Birth records, presumably reflects Isobel's Highland roots?

Witness the Gallick Congregation, Edinburgh
24th March 1786
Isobel's son Robert was also born in the St Cuthberts parish in Edinburgh. This record was witnessed in the "Gallic" Chapel in Edinburgh.
