At this time we do not have any direct details of Margaret Kay or her husband, John Barr. We only know of them through their daughter Janet's Birth and Death records; (see below). There is an obvious discrepancy between John's occupations as recorded at the times of Janet's birth and death, but everything else points to this being the correct person.

Margaret's daughter, Janet, died at 3.30 a.m. in the Poorhouse in Irvine, Ayrshire. She was aged 78. She was described as the Widow of John Richmond, Mail Inspector. Her parents were recorded as having been John Barr, Butcher (deceased) and Margaret Barr, M/S Kay, (deceased).
